FAMILY WEEKEND
Mar. 31st, 2012 09:54 amNext weekend is a long weekend so my family, being who they are, of course deicided to have a big family weekend this weekend. It's also supposed to be the last hoora of the summer.
Again, not so.The moment we got into the car it started to rain and it kept on raining. Until of course we reached our destination (after a minor detour OVER A MOUNTAIN) 5 hours later. There waiting for us were 2 nephews a niece, an uncle and their various extras. All in all 14 people came. Of a possible 21 people, not to shabby. Also my favourite nephew came. Who just got engaged!!!! I'm really happy for them.
Unfortunately this is the BF birthday weekend, he''s back home doing his own thing with his family. At least my phone works here in the middle of nowhere. It's actually really supprising. We went to the sea for christmas last year and my phone couldn't get g3, neither could my brothers' and he has one of those phones that can practically brew you a coffee. And we went ot a very popular resort too. One of those places you have to book a year and a half in advance to make sure you get a spot? Which is bullshit if you ask me. Nowhere can be fun and awesome enought that you have to book a friggin year in advance.
So here we are. in the middle of a mountain range and I got all the signal I can hope for. The view out my window is spectacular, btw. beautiful mist hanging over the mountains. It always makes me smile. It also always makes my think of the Valley of Veils pass through which you have to drive if you go in the direction of the Cape from my home. It's breathtaking. All those jagged mountain edges gentrly swathed in light and fluffy blankets of cloud?? that place earned it's name indeed.
Ok, I'm not actually completely awake yet. That's why all the rambling and laughing in the face of sentence structure. Will let you know how it went on monday.
